I think it comes down to do you trust Conte to improve him. And he's literally got the same or higher numbers than all those players lol, and five years younger than some, too.
It's Nacer Chadli! It's Lucas Moura! It's Erik Lamela! It's Steven Bergwijn! I like most of those dudes, but I'm not naive about their quality. And, two of these players are already on the team! All of them have better career non-penalty G+A. Why are they going after a player who might get as good as players they say aren't good enough?
I'm a little confused. Only Lamela (by 0.02) and Bale have higher npxG+A than Richarlison on your screenshot. And Bergwijn's numbers (0.35) are only close due to lack of playing time and sub effects. And I like Stevie! I think he got a bum rap. I'd prefer he keep going with us but he has literally said he's done with us. But I also think Richarlison just went through a season at Everton with Rafa Benitez horse-collaring the team and then Frank Lampard pissing down his leg.
Honestly, I'm wasn't a huge Richarlison guy; that's why I did the dive. To see what Conte sees. And I kinda get it now. But there's risk. All transfers are risks. This one is probably less risky than it might seem, though.
There's something to be said that we should compare only time at PL clubs, but I couldn't figure out how to do that easily. Lamela's probably the only one that takes a noticeable hit, though. And I believe he's still above Richarlison's output.
I just don't see a good player in Richarlison.

You're looking at expected, not actual. The older players (Nacer (https://fbref.com/en/players/5b54bf3b/Nacer-Chadli), Erik (https://fbref.com/en/players/abe66106/Erik-Lamela) and Bale (https://fbref.com/en/players/a58bb1e1/Gareth-Bale)) have huge holes in their data because expected numbers don't go back far enough for the PL. For example, Nacer's only season with data was his last at West Brom. Not very useful.
So I'm comparing actual output, not expected.
